Challenge

Housed in a former telephone switching station in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Darden Studio creates new typefaces and custom lettering for a variety of clients. They needed an identity and a website to expand their business to an online font catalog.

Action

Inspired by local historical signage, we showcased Darden’s typefaces by including as many as possible on their collateral. The letterpressed business cards convey the strong sense of craft present in the studio’s aesthetic, rooted in centuries of typefounding.

Results

The website Mucca Design created has allowed the studio to promote its retail fonts and custom type services, as well as expand its staff to handle incoming font requests, including ours!
