Etiquette of Chocolate

A sweet brand for a unique product line.

Challenge

Etiquette of Chocolate is a premium line of spiritually inspired gourmet chocolates. The key element of the founders’ philosophy involves tapping into the emotional connections of giving and the unique place that chocolate occupies in the culture of friendship, romance and love. The product needed an identity that would express these ideals, and with our own well-developed emotional connection to chocolate, we felt we were uniquely qualified for the project.

Action

Using Japanese gift culture as an inspiration, we designed packaging that reflected the individual relationships that are celebrated when sharing the gift of specialty chocolate. Each type of emotional relationship is expressed by a ribbon of color that, in turn, represents a particular flavor of chocolate.

Results

The elegant minimal packaging, with its intriguing color-coded system, transforms the product into a gift that satisfies both the sweet tooth and the soul.
