Il Buco Alimentari e Vineria
From rustic to retail.
Challenge
The proprietor of Il Buco restaurant, a rustic New York favorite, decided to expand to a new venue that combines a small market with a casual restaurant. In addition to selling Il Buco’s own brand of homemade olive oils and vinegars, the alimentari, or grocery, also doubles as an espresso bar and gelateria. With so much to offer, the owners needed a unified identity that would broaden their brand’s horizons while remaining true to the spirit of the original Il Buco.
Action
We created an identity that celebrates the spontaneity of authentic Italian eateries and markets, marrying a bright and modern visual language with the alimentari’s reverence for culinary traditions. Designed to be flexible, the identity redefines the Il Buco brand across a broad range of applications, from signage to menus to packaging.
Results
Since its opening, the alimentari has earned critical accolades and attracted flocks of intrigued foodies. With their adaptable identity, the Il Buco team is poised to expand their offerings as they continue to embark on new and delicious culinary ventures.
