A heavenly culinary brand gains new devotees

One of Milan’s most revered restaurant brands, Sant Ambroeus enjoys a history dating back to the 1930s. When the company opened a new flagship restaurant on Manhattan’s Madison Avenue, we were asked to reposition them for a NYC audience, and to convey the venue’s many personalities—from an early morning espresso bar to an ultra-sophisticated late-night gathering place.

The brand we created is an expression of the restaurant’s venerable history, with a lovingly reworked original logotype, two custom vintage typefaces, and a pattern inspired by traditional Italian confectionary paper.
